Mothers Car Show Series Filming On Site At VMP During Best Of Times Nostalgia Nationals
Virginia Motorsports Park and Best of Times Nostalgia Drag Racing Association are pleased to announce that the upcoming Best of Times Nostalgia Nationals, May 15-16, will be a part of the 2010 Mothers Car Show Series broadcast on the Fox Sports Network.
The 30 minute program, produced by the Masters Television Group, will cover the event both on and off the track. This will be the first Nostalgia drag racing event covered on national TV. The program should air in June. Check your local cable listings for air times.
The Best of Times Drag Racing Association is an organization dedicated to preserving the history of drag racing. Since its founding, Best of Times has grown to members in eight states and has worked endlessly to locate and reunite many legends in the sport of drag racing. This has given younger generations the opportunity to hear stories and experiences from those who revolutionized the sport in its early days. Harry The Hat Is Back!
The legendary Harry "the Hat" will be back at VMP and running things in the swap meet May 14-16 at the Best of Times Nostalgia Nationals. To contact Harry email him at Laplattehar@aol.com or call (561) 301-6840. Swap meet spaces are FREE with the purchase of a full event spectator ticket and the allowed space will be unlimited.
Harry will also be assisting with flag starts on the drag strip for cars 1963 and older. Flag Starts are a rare opportunity to look into the past to see how drag racing started and how things were before the invention of the timing system. Anyone interested in doing flag starts can call VMP’s own flag man Harry “The Hat.” Come witness drag racing back in the day as Harry puts on a show.
